New Bedford, Massachusetts, April 2020 - Maritime International Inc., the largest public cold storage facility in New Bedford, is announcing that their West Terminal division has once again received certification of an excellent rating from the British Retail Consortium (BRC) an approved audit scheme under that Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI).

BRC has been recognized internationally as the leader in food safety certification. As a member of the GFSI, the BRC is committed to continuous improvement of its food safety standards and requires the same continuous improvement from the distribution centers they certify.
About West Terminal: West Terminal, highly recognizable from the muralist Wayland’s painted whales, is a 63,000 square foot facility and is part of Maritime International’s New Bedford cold storage complex with facilities totaling over 190,000 square feet of refrigerated space.
Maritime operates Bridge Terminal in New Bedford which specializes in blast freezing and the storing of fresh and frozen perishables. Maritime also unloads refrigerated railcars and handles the stevedoring of international cargo ships.
